SPACES is a fully funded, student-run space that is focused on access, retention, and community through UC San Diego. Our mission encompasses equal access to higher education, undergraduate retention and graduation, and matriculation to graduate and professional schools. Role

As a Graphic Design Coordinator for SPACES, my responsibilities include creating promotional materials for upcoming events, designing merchandise for staff, and creating slide deck templates to use during any staff meetings. I worked closely with the Web Coordinator to ensure that the visual branding of SPACES remained consistent and reflected the values of access, retention, and community. I maintained contact with the 9 core organizations on campus to make sure that my designs reflected their needs.

  • I created a flyer for a study jam hosted by some of the core-orgs SPACES works closely with. I decided to be playful and include pieces of toast with jam!

  • I created a flyer for a graduate student panel hosted by native students. I was told to make the flyer match with NAISA's (Native American & Indigenous Student Association) current Instagram feed, hence the orange and blue.

  • I made a flyer for UCSD Kaibigang Pilipin@'s high school mentorship program. KP requested the use of green and elements corresponding with a farmer's market.

  • I made a flyer for UCSD's The Collective Voice, one of the oldest zines on campus. I incorporated TCV's colors - cream, red, and black.

  • This a flyer I made for a movie night SPACES hosted.

  • This was a flyer made for KP Core's board application. I made sure to keep the flyer consistent with KP Core's Instagram feed.

  • This a flyer I made for a study jam hosted by 3 of the core-orgs. I decided to be cheeky and draw pictures of jam jars and made sure the color palette of the flyer matched with all 3 orgs' established branding.

  • This is a flyer I made for a hiring announcement. The theme of this current cycle of SPACES was y2k technology, so I included a flip phone graphic. I primarily used the colors blue and purple to stay consistent with SPACES' branding, since this flyer pertains specifically to SPACES programming.

  • This is a flyer made for an Alternative Campus tour hosted by SPACES. I was requested to include elements that match the theme of "taking root".

  • I made this flyer for another alternative tour hosted by SPACES. This time I was asked to make the flyer represent a futuristic portal.
